Resin is a tough, sticky, vegetable product that is mainly extracted from conifers. There are also several plastics called resins. Examples of such synthetic resins are Bakelite, polyurethane resin, and epoxy resin. Resin is sometimes confused with gum.

This resin gets nice reviews when you need to do projects which are not too large, but I wouldn’t use it to mix in colors, as it cures too quickly for that.

My Final Opinion :
This is getting 4 stars and a half amongst the epoxy resin reviews, and this is why I would choose this product because, on top of that, it is also very affordable.
Final Conclusion
Whichever epoxy resin product you are going to choose to make miniature water dioramas, you should always take care of following the instructions thoroughly to avoid creating bubbles.
I would also buy a heat gun because every product out there seems to need it to get a nice smooth effect.
If you get that effect, you can create some wonderful pieces of art for sure!

Epoxy Risen products are a very interesting crafting product. I didn’t realize that epoxy is that dangerous for the skin. Thank you for the warnings. As the amount used for smaller water amounts is different from the one you pictured with the pouring container, I wondered if the smaller ones would require the full 24 hours to cure?
Miniatures are such an interesting combination of reality and imagination, that although I don’t work with them I get pulled into the cycle of what is being done, and why. I can see that having the option of risen for use to make water would be a great tool to work with. Thanks for the cost information to allow some comparison.
Do you work with a dryer for the bubbles? I like jewellery, and was considering some risen based pieces to work with and wondered about making my own with some keepsakes. So I feel equipped to make a good decision for this project with your information. Your miniatures are so eyecatching, you are an artist.
